Most coarse Types of Refrigerators

While picking a refrigerator, it is foremost to keep in mind the space you have, your budget, your cooking habits as well as your lifestyle. Here is a list of the various types of refrigerators ordinarily used.

Top Freezer refrigerators These are the most traditionally used types of refrigerators. They are ready in the most amount of styles and colors. Top mounted freezers also have a range of prices and features. Some of the newer models also offer ice as well as filtered water dispensers. Because of their configuration, top mounted freezers typically have the most amount of warehouse space.

3 Inch French Door Refrigerator

Eye level freezer space, makes it easy to view and passage the food stored in the freezer. They also cost the least of all the types ready on the market. One of the main disadvantages of having this type of a freezer is that you have to bend to reach the bottom shelves and drawers that are used more frequently.

Bottom Freezer refrigerators bottom mount freezers are becoming favorite among homeowners. Even though there are not as many models currently ready in the market, most of the major manufacturers are jumping right in. Widths typically run from 30 to 36 inches. However, these types of freezers offer less warehouse space than the top mount ones. bottom freezers offer the convenience of having more ordinarily used fresh food stored at eye-level. The drawback is that you have to bend to reach the freezer, also these models do not offer ice and water dispensers yet.

Side-by-side refrigerators Many homeowners opt for a side by side due to space constraints. A full length vertical side-by-side will have the freezer on one side and the refrigerator on the other. The advantage to this is that you will not let the cold air out when you open the refrigerator side. Side-by-side refrigerators typically come with ice and water dispensers as well as temperature controlled bins. The narrow doors are a big plus for kitchens with space constraints. Make sure that you get a model with adjustable bins so that you can configure the interior space to fit your needs. On the minus side, these refrigerators are not the best in terms of usable warehouse space. Also since the compartments are narrower, it is hard to fit wide items such as pizza boxes so this should be determined before getting a refrigerator of this type.

Built-in refrigerators For homeowners who have a allocation and want the wow factor, built-in refrigerators are a perfect fit. Built-in are more popular ,favorite than functional and are ready in both bottom freezer and side-by-side options. These refrigerators are designed to be aesthetically pleasing and thus come in a range of colors and finishes to match the rest of your kitchen. On the flip side, as these refrigerators are relatively shallow they offer the least amount of usable warehouse space. They can be mend prone and with the high preliminary venture can prove to be quiet high-priced in the long run.

Cabinet-depth refrigerators Cabinet-depth refrigerators are free standing models that have been built to a relatively shallower depth. These refrigerators are designed to perform the aesthetics of built-in models at a lesser cost. They are relatively shallow and accept panels for the desired look. Most of these models are ready as side-by-side doors, but if needed the homeowner can also get French door models, top-mount freezers as well as bottom mount freezers. Despite the safe bet aesthetic advantages, cabinet-depth refrigerators have much less usable space with more cost than other free standing models.

Drawer type refrigerators At about 00 a pop you can now store your soda cans or snacks under your kitchen counter. Refrigerator drawers are the latest in kitchen luxuries. They do not cost much to run as they are quiet small and can store only a itsybitsy amount of items. But the high preliminary cost coupled with small warehouse space makes them inefficient in the long run.

Kitchen develop Tips & Updates - Space Requirements & Recommendations

Kitchen create can be as easy as a level countertop with minimalist appliances, or as sophisticated as many sinks, dishwashers, cooktops & ovens in islands, under islands, over islands and more. Wine coolers can fit in the space of a dishwasher or be as tall as a pantry. Sinks can be troughs to be filled with ice to cool bottles, dinky for an entertainment center, double or triple bowls and an infinite collection of materials. Materials vary enormously, you can go green with countertops made of compressed recycled paper, clear glass, concrete, granite, limestone or the old standbys. Even within materials, such as granite, prices vary enormously depending on the exact stone chosen, and you can find some very inexpensive and beautiful stone if you look around. There's an infinite world of possibilities in the kitchen.

First we can start with some create basics. How much room do I need for a kitchen? Well, that depends on what you want in it. At it's most mini, you could fit a kitchen into a space 5'-4" x 7'-5", but there wouldn't be much beyond some very small appliances without a dishwasher. Let's look at some acceptable appliance and fixtures size ranges.

    3 Inch French Door Refrigerator

Sinks: sinks come in many sizes, depths, materials and prices.  You can get them as narrow as 11" wide, but you probably want to plan at least a 30" - 36" cabinet, which can adapt a wide range of acceptable size kitchen sinks from 25" to 33" in a collection of styles (drop-in, undercounter, or exposed front cut out).  You will also need to conclude if you like a single, double or triple basin sink, as that will impact available sizes. There is also the option of putting the sink in an island, or putting an entertainment sink or trough sink in a secondary location.   Dishwashers: dishwashers are pretty easy because they are pretty acceptable at 24".   Cooking: again we have many choices, but sizes are a dinky easier.  You have a option of a free-standing or slide-in, in which the unit fits in between two cabinets, which is ordinarily 30" wide; a cooktop with separate ovens, (either below or in a separate cabinet), which comes acceptable in 30" or 36" sizes and fit into that size cabinet (although you can get pro style rangetops up to 48"); or a pro style range made by associates such as Viking, Wolfe or Ge Monogram which range from 24" all the way up to 60", and require essential ventilation. If you choose a separate oven in some kind of wall oven arrangement, acceptable oven widths are ordinarily 27" and 30", although they can be found up to 36".   Refrigerators: Choices, choices! Refrigerators are kind of two basic style decisions. Do you want one which is shallow (around 2') and is known as built-in or counter-depth, or do you want the slightly deeper original style where some of refrigerator sides are exposed. The shallower built-in's ordinarily come in 36", 42" & 48", while the deeper styles can be found just below 30" wide and up.   Faucets: Kitchen faucets, besides an practically infinite collection of styles, materials and colors, also have evolved. Faucets are now available just to fill the pots on your stove, have a option of pull-out sprayer heads or separate sprayer, singular or many handles, they are available with remote two button controls for a prep sink which allows for a quick sink rinse or a more faultless cleansing flow, and can fit any decor from ultra contemporary to renaissance.
How much countertop is enough? according to the National Kitchen and Bath relationship (Nkba) a total of 158 inches (13'-2") of countertop frontage (not in corners) is needed to adapt all kitchen uses. Try to allow a continuous section of countertop of at least 36 inches wide by 24 inches deep next to your original work area.  The Nkba recommends that you allow at least a 15 inch countertop area next to your oven and on the handle side of your refrigerator.

When talking about storage,  the Nkba recommends a total shelf/drawer frontage of 1400 inches for a small kitchen (less then 150sf), 1700 inches for a medium kitchen (151 to 350sf) and 2000 inches for a large kitchen (over 350sf). What does this mean? Does this mean that I need over 100' of shelves for a dinky kitchen? Well, yes, but, each drawer or each personel shelf should be counted towards the total. So if you have a 24" wide cabinet, 30" high with 3 shelves, you already have 6' of shelving. And if there were a 24" base cabinet with 4 drawers, there's another 8', so this one 24" area of your kitchen already has 14' of shelving.

What is "the work triangle"? The work triangle represents the three major work stations of the kitchen: the cooking area, the refrigerator and the sink. Measuring from the center of each, the maximum total length of the triangle should not be greater then 26 feet with the maximum leg no greater then 9 feet and the minimum not less then 4 feet. At 3D Home Decorator, there are genuinely 9ft and 4ft arrows that you can place in your floor plans to test distances.

Eating areas are not dinky to tables! Islands can adapt eating areas, cooking areas, washing up areas, or just prep areas. A typical kitchen counter is 34 inches to 36 inches high. A table is typically 30 inches high. So in planning kitchen eating areas, part of an island eating area can be dropped to table height or a table can be built as an extension of an island, left at counter height with stools, or raised to 42 inches for a high countertop eating area, which is often used to hide the work exterior of the counter behind it when viewed from the rest of the room.

How much space is ideal between a table and the wall? The Nkba  (National Kitchen & Bath Assoc.) recommends a minimum of 32 inches if no traffic needs to pass. 36 inches will let someone squeeze by, and 44 inches will let a someone walk by. If a wheelchair needs to pass, allow 60 inches.

It is best to vent your stove to the exterior if possible, but there are recirculating fans which will draw odors from the air if exterior venting is not available Do not put cooking surfaces under operable windows. If you are lucky sufficient to have an operable window above countertop height in your kitchen, place your sink under it instead of your stove. You can put a microwave with a fan compound over your stove, either exhausting to the outside, or recirculating the air.

Do not waste your kitchen corners. Upper cabinets can be decorative open shelving or have a two part door which opens both sides of the cabinets. Blind base cabinets can have lazy susans, which rotate for access, or base cabinets can have shelves which pull out, swing to the side and allow deeper shelves to be pulled out into accessible locations. While it is the hardest to access, the least costly clarification is just to have deep shelves or a easy lazy-susan (the rotating shelves). If you have an L shaped kitchen or island with a peninsula setup, doors can be located on both sides for accessibility.

Don't forget the space between the upper and lower cabinets. If you have more then sufficient countertop, the space between the upper and lower cabinets  (even in the corners) can have tambour doors (rollup doors) which can hide appliances or the space can be filled with open wine racks, leaving half the countertop exposed for the usual purposes.

Cabinets come in all sizes. Base cabinets come in every width from 3 inches up, and depths from 12 inches to 24 inches and larger, so they can fill all kinds of needs. 9 inch and 12 inch base pullouts for soda bottles and cans are overwhelming and effective for filling in narrower spaces. There are  base cabinets with pullouts for garbage and/or recycling, or with shelves that lift up for a Kitchenaid Mixmaster type of appliance. A 12 inch deep cabinet at the end of an island can be used for cookbooks or designed for wine storage. Don't forget full height pantries, which can have shelves, roll-out drawers, door attachments for spices or other specialty storage. Both lower and upper cabinets can be decoratively open for wine, books, glassware, and more. An 18" or 24" base could have a small wine or soda refrigerator built in. There are 6" high drawer cabinets or open shelves which can fit under your upper cabinets to furnish warehouse for smaller items.  Base cabinets too can have glass doors and fancy faces, which can be used to display special dishes.  With warehouse at a premium, kitchen cabinets have come to be very clever about gift maximum efficiency in minimum space.

French Door Window Treatments - Getting the Best Curtains For Your French Doors

There are many French door window treatments ready today and this is why it's not an easy task going out there and buying the best for your French doors. There are also many considerations that you need to take note off before spending your hard earned money on a new set of window treatments that might or might not suits your own French doors very well.

For example you might want to check how much light you want the curtains to let in the house. Also what type of room decor you have, will the style you buy fit in nicely with the rest of the furniture? And let's not forget about the fact that you need to spend money on it. How much money are you willing to spend on your new drapes? All these should not be overlooked when buying your new window treatments for home.

    3 Inch French Door Refrigerator

One of the best types I can personally advise are the Honeycomb ones. They are very tasteless and popular among many homeowners. The fact that they are ready in many styles is a big plus. Very durable in quality, they have also a softness to them that people love. The intuit for their spellbinding name is the fact that they have layers of air pockets made in the form of a honeycomb. This allows the climatic characteristic to be regulated at all times, improving the room insulation. Of procedure the more honeycombs you have on your drapes, the best the insulation.

You can find the Honeycomb drapes in either single, double or triple style. The single one doesn't contribute as much insulation as the double, which provides less than the triple. Also if you get curtains with larger pleats you are best off than going for smaller ones. A popular version seems to be the one with 3/8 inches double cell shades that have a verily reasonable price tag attached to them. So as you can see, allowable insulation is a major observation when buying your new French or patio door window treatments, such as the patio door curtains.

You can verily find drapes with strong light filtering if you have rooms in the house such as a media room or others that need to be dark for longer periods of time. Also some added features of these curtains are them being motorized and the availability of the top-down versions, as opposed to bottom-up, which are the most tasteless ones on the market today.

Finally let's not forget about Roman blinds, which are very popular as well for French doors. These are a very excellent alternative if room decor is a strong point in getting French door window treatments. They are ready at a verily good price nowadays.

What Are common Refrigerator Problems? How To Fix Them

Hi there! Welcome to the world of independent living! maybe it's your first time to live on your own, away from your parents, away from your old neighbors. Now I assume you have already settled down everything in your new apartment. The couches are in, the television set is functioning and you have just stocked your fridge with food that will last the whole week.

But wait, does your refrigerator sound noisier than when you first bought it? True, living independently has its perks but now, you have to deal with this qoute alone. You can always take your refrigerator to the fix man but how will you know if it's a real problem? To save your time, exertion and of course, your money, you have to be able to know when you can take activity or when time to have the fridge repaired.

    3 Inch French Door Refrigerator

Here are the tasteless problems many households perceive all over the globe.

    1. My fridge is not cool sufficient
For it to be able to function properly (its main function being the preservation of your food), your fridge should have a climatic characteristic in the middle of 38-40 degrees Fahrenheit. If you sense that your fridge does not give off sufficient coolness, or is already giving warm air instead, first check your thermometer. If it really has a warmer than usual temperature, try to adjust the thermostat controller inside the refrigerator..

If after 6 hours the climatic characteristic still did not change, check the fan if it's running. If it runs fine, check the condenser coils. Some models have their condenser coils at the front while most have them in the back. Take off the protective cover and vacuum the accumulated dust and dirt. You can also use a stiff brush. If the dust and dirt have hardened or if they are greasy, wash with soap and water.

You can also try defrosting the fridge. Take off all the perishable foods and items from your fridge and from the freezer. Turn the refrigerator and the freezer off and leave all the doors open overnight. Replace the food in the morning, turn the thing on, put the thermostat to a middle setting and check the climatic characteristic after 6 hours.

After cleaning the condenser coils and defrosting the freezer and you still find the climatic characteristic warm, check the door seal. In some cases, broken door seals do not seal off the cool air inside the fridge and so warm air can enter. If the seals are broken, you will have to go to your local store and replace them with new ones.

    2. My fridge leaks
This is a very tasteless refrigerator problem. Water (that is hopefully not flooding your kitchen floor right now) may come from distinct sources from inside the fridge. If your refrigerator has a water or ice dispenser, it is highly potential that the lines to the dispenser are broken. Once these lines are broken, you may have to replace them with new ones.

If your refrigerator unit has a defrost tray or a drain pan underneath, try to check it for holes and cracks. You can also try to clean your drain tube. It can be in the floor of the refrigerator or at the back, on top of the wall. Use a turkey baster to clean it and put a combination of half gallon hot water with a half cup of bleach through the opening. This solution will go into the drain pan. After cleaning the drain tube, empty the drain pan.

There may also be water on the ceiling of your fridge. This may come from a clogged drain in the freezer. If water comes from this source, try unclogging your drain or Take off the divider of your fridge and freezer and then dry the insulation.

    3. My fridge gives off a loud noise
Also one of the most tasteless refrigerator problems, noisiness of the fridge is now often dismissed as a basic highlight of the said appliance. However, most of the time, noise is one sign that there's something wrong with your unit.

Noise, like water leakage, may also come from distinct sources but more often than not, it comes from the inside. If the noise is arrival from the inside of the fridge, it is very likely that your fan is causing it. Oftentimes, especially if your fridge has been with you for quite a while, the fan will gently become noisy, production chirping, squealing or even groaning sounds. To find out if it's causing the noise, open the door. If the noise becomes louder when the door is open, have your fan checked.

    French Seafood Crepes formula

This seafood crepes formula is a great make ahead supper that will allow you to enjoy your guests, rather than be fussing in the kitchen. It takes a limited time to assemble, but none of the steps are difficult and good results are easy to attain. Try serving this formula whether as a main dish, or in smaller serving sizes for a French inspired entree.

Steps for development seafood crepes recipe:

    3 Inch French Door Refrigerator

Make the crepes with the basic crepe formula given here. This can be done a day in advance. Wrap the cooked and cooled crepes in plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator until you are ready to assemble. Make the mornay sauce. This too can be done in develop and stored in the refrigerator for a day. Assemble the crepes. Make the seafood crepes formula up to the point where they go in the oven. You can then refrigerate them until supper hour. Allow about 45 minutes from the time you turn the oven on, until these crepes are ready to come to the table.

    Crepes aux fruits de mer

2 pounds mixed icy seafood 2 cups Mornay sauce (recipe follows) 12 crepes (recipe follows) 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese

Cook the seafood agreeing to container directions. Normally this involves plainly dropping the icy seafood in boiling water for 2 minutes, then draining.

Mix the seafood with all but 1/2 cup of the mornay sauce.

Place about 1/4 cup of filling in the middle of each crepe. Fold the sides of the crepe in and then close the crepe by folding over the other two sides. Place the folded crepes, seam side down, in a greased baking dish.

Pour remaining mornay sauce on top of the crepes, then top with bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese mixture.

Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes or until piping hot. The crepes may need to bake a limited longer if you have refrigerated the assembled crepes. Sprinkle with paprika for a pretty presentation.

Makes 4 main dish servings, or 6 or more entree servings.

    Mornay Sauce

Because seafood is low calorie itself, I do not mind development the mornay sauce even richer with some cream. If you prefer a lower fat version, just use all milk in this recipe.

1/4 cup butter 1/4 cup all purpose flour 1/2 cup dry white wine 1 1/4 cups milk 1/4 cup heavy cream 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese pinch of cayenne pepper salt and pepper

Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat. Using a wooden spoon, stir in the flour and mix well. Chronic stirring over low heat for two minutes.

Begin adding the wine in small quantities - about two tablespoons at a time. Make sure that you fully incorporate the liquid before adding more - this way you will get a plane sauce.

After you have added the wine, slowly stir in the milk and then the cream. Continue to heat the sauce on low to medium heat, stirring often. Cook just to below boiling until the compound thickens.

Add the cheese about 2 tablespoons at a time, completely incorporating each addition.

Remove from heat and whisk in the cayenne pepper, and salt and pepper to taste.

    Crepe Pancake formula

    (for about 15 crepes)

3 large eggs 2 cups all-purpose flour 2 cups milk 3 tablespoon vegetable oil 1/2 teaspoon salt

Whisk the eggs in a large mixing bowl. Add the flour, 1/2 the milk, vegetable oil, and salt and whisk together. Pour in the remaining milk as you whisk. Depending on the size of the eggs, you may need to add a limited more milk. The consistency of the batter should be about like heavy cream. Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator for an hour.

Heat a 10 inch round non-stick crepe pan on medium heat until hot. Ladle about 1/3 cup batter into the pan, turning and tilting the pan to evenly coat bottom. Cook until the top surface is no longer wet and the edges beginning to brown (one to two minutes), then turn with a spatula and cook 15 seconds more on the other side.

Remove from the pan. You can stack the crepes as you cook them.
